he Legal Center’s principal attorney, Rick Manwaring, recently relocated his offices from San Diego to Oceanside in North County. Mr. Manwaring is a member of both the California Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and is an active member in the Estate Planning Sections of both of these associations. Mr. Manwaring is also a member of The North County Bar Association as well as numerous other professional organizations.

Rick has written many articles on a wide array of legal topics as well as authoring the book, Estate Planning 101, A Primer. His book contains practical and understandable answers to many estate planning questions. Mr. Manwaring has taught law courses at various universities and has served as the academic dean and director of legal studies department. He is often called on to give lectures and seminars on estate planning and the use of strategies that go beyond the "Living Trust." Mr. Manwaring is well versed in Charitable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Family Trusts, Family Partnerships, Asset Protection Agreements, Special Needs Trusts, Pet Trusts, and many other specialized Trusts.

Rick is also called on often to give talks to business groups regarding Business Planning and Organization, with emphasis on strategies for selecting the correct business structure.

Mr. Manwaring is retired from the Marine Corps and keeps active in a number of fraternal organizations associated with the military, as well as the local Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Military Affairs Committee and sits on many boards and sub committees for the Chamber.
